I had to get my next round of blood work done so Mark took me to Quest the day after Thanksgiving. 10 vials of blood later I was done - did I mention it was TEN vials?!?! Sheesh. I am STILL black and blue to this day.
All came back pretty good. I don't have HIV and my blood type is O+. I was told I am dehydrated and I lost 3lbs in two weeks, so I have to start eating better. I just don't have an appetite, but I'll try. I've been bringing fruit and snacks with me to work and I have a bottle that I can refill with water from the cooler, so I try to make sure to drink all day as well.
We heard the little bugger on the doppler! Loud and clear, then swam away! Had to relocate. Then the baby kicked - can't feel it YET, but we heard it! :)
More later....can't really get online too much from the new job!

No real news updates
I was supposed to have another doctor appointment on Nov. 11th and my Doc was called out to another mama giving birth. How dare she on my appointment day! lol Then was resceduled to yesterday, Nov. 18th, and once again my doc. was unavailable. So will be meeting with the other Dr. in the practice tomorrow afternoon - unless I get another phone call that the office has completely shut down!
I've been feeling really good lately. No major issues to gripe about at the moment.
Last week Mark and I went to see Madagascar Escape 2 Africa - I loved the first one and couldn't wait for #2 to come out. It was great! I adore the penguins and they had a much bigger part in this movie! Hehehe
Also, last week my boss informed me that "times were really tough" and he was going to have to cut my hours down to 18 per week working M, W, F only. Which totally stinks to get a pay cut with a baby on the way. But I do like having the extras days to myself!!!! Shhh, don't tell Mark!

Baby's first present!
The baby has received their first gift! A pacifier from Auntie Di-Di and Uncle Matt. And I'll give you one guess to what the picture is on the pacifier...........a penguin of course!!! If there is penguin merchandise to be had, Diana will find it!
And I have been receiving lovely cards! Thank you to Grandma Gen, who will be a great-grandmother! A beautiful handmade card from Liz! And again, Diana & Matt! Thank you so much! I have to get a baby book soon to start saving everything. :)

Chinese Gender Prediction
Based on your age (converted into Lunar age) and your month of conception, the chinese gender predictor predicts a....
Baby Girl !

"The Chinese Baby Gender Predictor was discovered in a royal tomb about 700 years ago, the original of which is now kept in the Institute of Science at Peking.
Although many believe the chances of the chart predicting the sex of your baby are completely random, there have been surveys in Chinese hospitals where the accuracy rate is around 70%!"
Ok, so I guess the Predictor has a 50/50 shot right?!?!? LOL Just thought this was something fun - we'll have to wait and see if it's correct!

Appetitie Changing
So I am definitely not eating as much - but I'm hungry more often now! I get incredibly hungry around 11:00 a.m., so I have to remember to bring a snack to work - or I'll have to get stuff to stash here. The other day I was craving Villa Pizza - went right down at lunch and got 2 slices of cheese and an order of garlic knots, yummmm! LOL
As you know, Mark is the cook in the house and I feel bad when I don't finish a meal now. But he understands and he gets to eat my leftovers!
I also have to watch the coffee drinking, and any caffeine. Switched to decaf and try to only drink one cup per day as it is. We bought caffeine free diet soda for home, but it's hard when we eat out since most places don't have caffeine free AND diet. So I've been drinking a lot more Sprite!
Taking my prenatal pills that are the size of a mini candy bar, but I'm getting used to them now! All my folic acid, DHA and omega-3 fish oils...........fish oils, so why can't I eat sushi?!?!? I know, I know raw fish, blah blah blah, but I miss it so.
And wine. We DJ'd at a wine tasting fundraising event my boss had - all that free wine and I could only smell it! I lived vicariously through Mark that night. *sigh*

How it all started.......
Mark and I started to dicuss the "baby topic" back in July. I'll admit, at first we both thought I was crazy, but then my biological clock must have kicked into overdrive and I got baby fever BAD. But due to timing, we decided to wait to try until April 2009. Yeah, that didn't last!
I immediately began "charting my fertility" and Mark thought I had officially lost my mind, but it was something for me to do and I got to put a cool ticker up in my signature on the "baby message boards" that I had joined with other women obsessing over babies. LOL So we decided September would be the new start date and we were blessed to have gotten lucky on the first shot!
I took a home pregnancy test on October 7th and .....
yes, I took a picture of it to save for all time! LOL
Dr.'s office is closed on Wednesdays so waited until Thursday to call....by then I was sick with some kind of sinus cold and was told all I could take was the little red 10mg of Sudafed. Yeah, right. Those things do nothing for me when I take 30mg of them! So I was miserable. Went to the walkin on Friday and found out I had tonsilitis, so got antibiotic for that and was on my way!
Went to the Dr. for the first appointment on Tuesday, October 14th and was surprised they wanted to do an ultrasound so early, but I didn't argue. There wasn't much to see yet, but it did prove I was pregnant! Sent me off for bloodwork and will see me again on the 28th, when we can hopefully see the heartbeat!
